Israelis are settlers, a small portion of whom are descendants of Holocaust refugees (the majority of whom settled in France, according to the claims commission); only their shared interests in advancing the genocidal Zionist project makes them "a people"; not that they are Jewish, as too many Jews, including the oldest bodies of rabbinic authority, reject the Zionist political project. I am Jewish and have nothing in common with most Israelis; I am not a part of their people; Israel is therefore not the state of the Jewish people, but the state of the Jewish Zionist settler-colonial political project. It would be antisemitic to not distinguish the two, because that implies that Judaism — an explicitly antinationalist religion the laws of which prohibit violence except in the most extreme circumstances — is inherently driven to ethnonationalist violence.

Pretending that large swaths of the country opposes the genocide of #Palestine is an obvious lie. They fill the streets in the tens of thousands when a politician who wants to take their healthcare away steals an election; when Palestinian children are mass murdered, their limbs scattered across the tent cities they've been told to flee to as the bombardment intensifies for all the world to see, they show up in mere tens.

#Zionism is a fascist ideology that needs to be removed from power and refused recognition under international law. There is no way to distinguish it from what is happening now.
