Just caught the premier episode of Dune: Prophecy and am invested so far. However, I have one nagging issue with the current Dune adaptations: at no point has anyone explained what Spice is and why it’s so important (other than maybe a passing bit of dialogue in Part One). Spice is so central to the stories in the novels, but is almost an afterthought in the movies (and now TV show).
We need spice. And CHOAM. And the Spacing Guild!
