Oof. Though, TBH, I don't even scan articles in lower-tier Elsevier journals these days. The incentive to paper dump is too great (and the editorship is non-existent). I scan #arxiv for new research. There is no incentive to paper dump, because there is no editorship and the papers are open access. For everything else, I tend to stick to a few journals with editors I know and trust. Or follow specific researchers that publish in my field.
