I got those gloves and a few other pieces of #welding equipment from my late uncle after he passed a few years ago. My interest in welding blossomed just a touch late to be able to learn from him. He was truly a master of the craft with many decades of experience. I like to think his wisdom guides my hands as I learn this skill by wearing his gloves.

Just unrolled my first 2 pounds of flux core wire. I'm genuinely enjoying this trade despite being pretty terrible. I never thought I'd be so comfortable getting splattered by molten steel.

A few more weeks for the remaining parts to come in and I'll be finished with this massive project and get to unveil and see if the welds hold.

Already looking forward to future welding projects!
