I don't know why I never thought of this before but I'm telling you in case someone needs to be reminded. Everyone living in a region that gets seasonally cold should have a hot water bottle in your emergency supply kit. We haven't had any heat for the last 24 hours--the repair man just arrived. It's 43 degrees outside. I am all bundled up sitting at the computer with a hot water bottle in my lap and it's all I really need.
