Once again, the question of opt-in vs. opt-out has come to the Fediverse.
For those wishing an opt-in version of the Fediverse, I highly suggest that you join a server that involves itself in active white-listing of federation, ideally with servers that have signed a public pact or memorandum of understanding.
Such servers are few and far between, and the reason is simple: it diminishes visibility.
A far easier way to deal with undesirable servers and bridges is to just run a server yourself, and defederate to your heart's desire. If you're an admin, you don't have to wait for an admin to do this. But now, this becomes opt-out -- not opt-in.
