Yeah totally! The best theory I’ve heard on that experiment and particularly on the atoms knowing they are being observed l, is the game/memory simulation theory.

I’m not sure if you were ever a gamer but do you remember the days when you would turn around in a game and the environment would still be loading behind you? And these days in modern games when you move close to an object it gets more detailed. They are called LOD objects (level of detail). The creator makes 3-5 version with different detail to conserve memory. The more advanced games become the harder it becomes to spot the change.

Ultimately it’s the same problem, 1000 years in the future. They/Ai have this whole simulation to run, but they are still limited by compute power, so they must create a less accurate version of reality when it’s not being studied. When the simulation thinks you aren’t watching you get a generalised version which looks ok on the surface but it’s a advanced version of LOD geometry. This is why you get two different results when looking at the building blocks and when you aren’t. Simulation theorists are correct I think. It’s the only way the Big Bang makes any sense.

It’s a playground for Ai to experience real human emotions
