The negative way of seeing this is also quite simple. Voters in the US are simply not interested in having discussions or changing their preference. CNN did everything to make this a show, not a debate. They left the viewers isolated from fact checking or any kind of commentary. Just two old guys throwing platitudes around. Not even a studio audience to get a reaction. Politics as scripted reality show. Le sigh. 2/2
