I’ve been asked to join a national advisory panel. What’s the bet it’s unpaid? It’s ok to do service work like this when you have a salary that pays enough to cover food and rent, but a PhD student stipend does NOT. If anyone in the lab suggests I do it for exposure, I will walk away without explanation 🤷🏻♀️ #PhDlife #academicChatter
