The oligarchal looting of Iceland in the bubble that crashed in 2008, for example, was driven by nationalist fervour. All criticism of the bubble was squashed with nationalist rhetoric. “Ísland best í heimi”, or “Iceland is the best in the world”, was used to shut down debates. So, I think it’s definitely harmed Iceland at the very least.",
