New thing to track? Mark a start date "I did new thing!" and optionally fill out an estimated date you'll need to do it again
Then either you get the reminder and you do the thing and hit "I did the thing"
Or on some other day you hit "I did the thing"
And then based on how many times you did the thing vs how long between times, it finds an average for when you'll likely next need to do the thing
