I highly suggest getting a Windows key for like $20 and running Davinci Resolve on that. I too considered a Mac but in the end not being able to upgrade was a deal breaker for me. I spend as much time as I can in Linux but when you just want to get a video edited I find Resolve on Windows unbeatable, doubly so if you go Intel CPU with internal gpu and an Nvidia gpu as Resolve Studio will use both for encoding and processing.
