How do you decide on character names?
I have some rules for naming characters.
A name should have a clear pronunciation and should easily trip off the tongue.
A name should reflect its time and place of origin.
Names might be subtle or not so subtle plays on common words and phrases.
One character’s name should not be easily confused with another’s.
Be careful of stereotypes.
Some of the names is my work in progress: Parker Wilcox, Maggie Hathaway, Officer Wally Pollock, Chief Chester Q. Boggs Jr., Theodora Borden, Millicent Tuckworth, Olive Drabbe, Fr. Aloysius DeCanter, Doc Hubbard.
