I'm not so conspiratorial to just make a blanket statement that "(((they))) want to destroy the traditional family unit by normalising cheating in movies and shows." It's probably just more that people in Hollywood believe that because it's common for them it's common for everyone, and that it's not as big a betrayal or moral failure as it is to most people.
If we are doing the thing zoomers do where they obsess about how there's too many sex scenes or nudity in films, then I would also like to have a platform to complain about how adultery feels too common in movies nowadays.
