It’d be good if some algorithms would ask instead of assuming. Machine translation is a good example. It doesn’t always need to be fully automatic, it could ask things, like when translating from Swedish to English and it finds the word “duva”, it could ask if you meant “dove” or “pigeon”. Or “vind” could mean skewed, crosseyed, attic, or wind. Or to French it could sort out the tu / vous thing and gendered adjectives.
