Someone tipped me off the other day about an angry comment about me and my blog, where the person insisted that my blog exhibits "barely a freshman understanding" of computer science.

And I take that as an unintended compliment.

Because a lot of the things I write about on my blog are intended to be easy-to-understand for practitioners, so if the complexity feels like early college level, that's a sign that I'm succeeding at my intended goals.

I also just don't enjoy writing in a stiff, formal, academic style. I have to, occasionally, but it's not my preferred mode.
