I gave up some things to leave Twitter, some of them substantive and some of them venal. I simply could not imagine continuing to use it in any way consistent with my principles.

I can’t tell you whether what you would lose by quitting Facebook is too great to be acceptable. I can imagine lots of circumstances in which it would be. But I don’t think *any* loss is a sufficient explanation for staying there in itself, if your principles also have value to you.
