Bush was *entitled* to a second term, that *they* were entitled to a second term, and they were not only shocked but highly offended that "young upstart" Bill Clinton had the audacity to deny them that. It poured fuel on the fire of resentment that had been burning since Richard Nixon was forced to resign in disgrace in 1974.
That whole drama has continued to this day and reached its peak in Donald J. Trump.
