Ah! I misunderstood what you meant. It’s never good to go too technical, but essentially the concept of the blockchain or timechain. All bitcoins every 10 minutes are accounted for by everybody present in the network. We always know how many exist, where they are and how many are created. The rules are set in the code and cannot be changed unless everybody agrees to change it (not going to happen). This allows for the concept of digital scarcity to occur.
