The English language has two different terms for words adopted into it.
I've mentioned 'Loanwords; previously. These are words imported in their original form. Hors D'ourves for example.
There are also 'calque' words which are translated from the original language, such as 'beer garden'
Ironically, 'calque' is a 'loanword' whilst 'loanword' is a 'calque' from the German word 'lehnwort'
