And it gets so much worse. You really have to fight and be alert to advocate for your kid after they're born in the hospital. Many moms are out of it, or had a c-section and can't do this. Hospital protocol causes many other complications too. Don't let your kid out of your sight after he/she is born in the hospital. Midwifes can help be the barrier if you're unable to vouch. Its sometimes as soon as 15 minutes after they are born. It is criminal this is a requirement.
