Trouble is, show me an alternative…
I went looking last night… most are either using Google or Bing as the back-end.
Needed a recipe for pancakes last night (I knew the rough recipe, but wanted to check quantities)… ended up using Dogpile (from 1996).
I think we need to think about ways we can federate our search. Centralised services come-and-go… but federated ones live forever, just look at email!
