A customer was talking to me about someone he knows who is dying of cirrhosis. Apparently doctors don’t prescribe much pain remediation, bc at the hospice stage your liver cannot process opiates well. This is all anecdotal, but it does not sound like the sort of fate where the addict is worrying about cognition. Horrid.
