Lol thanks, I think you're right - I like to think of myself as a bit of an idealist but I still appreciate the kind words!


I share the same concerns. Constant streams of media seem to tend toward libidnal eddys around platforms like river water around a rock. If I can think of one positive characteristic that could help create escape velocity from this kind of thing, I think it might be that we at least don't have one single centralized algorithmic organizing function on nostr that can supercharge the ability to capitalize on captured attention. 


Nostr is already an escape from Twitter, and maybe there will be algorithmically-defined clients and relays that try to farm engagement, but now they'll be in greater competition with each other. If the content of one relay becomes increasingly vacuous - like many people think Twitter is - then there will be less friction to jump out of that information pool while (hopefully) staying in the bigger stream. That's an interesting problem I'll definitely have to give more thought.
