And also the overall effects of using very cheap money to offset a particularly harsh fiscal policy - one focused over time almost exclusively on public spending cuts rather the usual more balanced approach. I know this from personal experience in that there was a massive increase in the value of my (directly managed) portfolio of bonds and shares during the 2010s - which enabled me to take quite a lot of capital gains. Not alas something I can do much of any more!
