You see, everyone expects a second frame with that Simpsons meme, so eliminating simply leaves room for them to fill in the blank, and it may not be positive for Alby. Typically the second frame reveals that Homer didn’t actually fix his problem by losing weight, but rather he simply tied his fat behind his back in a janky way that is sure to soon fail (see panel A below). That’s not the image Alby is wanting to portray here I assume.
By modifying the second panel to remove Homer’s fat (see panel B below) shows that he actually fixed his issue, and it’s also humorous because it’s not what the reader expects to see there.
