Because you already run a well managed database cluster and running things in Kubernetes has no benefit?
Maybe because you want to keep your clusters ephemeral and stateless?
It's hard to argue that databases are not fit for Kubernetes given that Kubernetes can be used beyond Kubernetes patterns.
But you can of course easily find Kubernetes environments that are not fit for databases.
