OK #NZTwits #gardening, I need some advice. Last week lightening hit a huge macrocarpa in my front yard, which has now been rendered down to firewood. Once we move said wood, I'm going to have quite a bit of freed up ground to play with and am wondering about native plantings that thrive well on an east south/east facing site which gets wet and is clay heavy soil (in Auckland). I'm interested in flowers/ground covering plants as well as shrubs and trees. I'm already planning on getting a kowhai
