Therefore, "my copy" of a paper==the copy I'd find when searching for it online. At some point, my list of "papers I have cited or might cite or plan to cite" became so long and unwieldy that I just declared reference bankruptcy and I never looked back. I can go back to past manuscripts' .bib files and grab stuff when needed. Sometimes I do. But mostly I just cobble things together on a per-paper basis.
