Software development is my "career". I don't stay at the same place doing the same thing every day. Sometimes my career doesn't even require me to write code - but instead, I dunno, read Mises to get a better idea of "intellectual property".
You don't have to think of "your career" in that narrow view. Take wherever you are and draw a line through the dots from here into your past: that's your career.
