Can someone refer me to an article with a convincing explanation why we should be changing our mainline git branch name?
Obviously I can point out the other meaning of the old name, but both of us are white and culturally English. The argument feels a bit thin without concrete examples of people saying they were put off by the old terminology.
For my own part I changed my own practice just because I trust other progressive people's jugement. I haven't had an in-depth conversation with the co-maintainer I am trying to sell on the change, but they're generally reasonably progressive.
