My father has always been scared of me. I was 6' tall at 12 years old. And he's all of 5'5". But it wasn't just physical. He has always needed to put others down to make himself feel like the smartest guy in the room.

When I entered second grade, I realized he was doing that to me, too. I deduced that either he thought I was smarter than him or he was worried I at least *looked* that way. So I would pretend to not know the answers to things. But that didn't work...
