Following up on my toots from yesterday: Here are the two Linotype working drawings for 10pt & 11pt Caledonia “n” colorized and superimposed on one another (and flipped to be right-reading), showing the optical adjustments that were made as a matter of course.
Magenta = 11pt | Blue = 10pt
Dwiggins would not have had any hand in this. After the approval of the pilot size (usu. 12 pt), the development of the rest of the point sizes to be offered was left entirely to the MLCo. Drawing Office.
