You may have seen the viral images of a wax replica of the Abraham Lincoln Memorial melting in the D.C. heat wave last week. The Art Newspaper has the lowdown on the artwork itself. Titled "40 Acres: Camp Barker" it is by Richmond, Va.-based, artist Sandy Williams IV, who told Newsweek "I always joked that when the climate got worse, and we were living in weather hot enough to melt these sculptures, that this work would then become environmental art.
