Does anybody remember the book that was going around in ~2021 that was about a particular medieval European town and its struggles with plague? A historian reassembled the timeline of the local authorities telling everyone the usual lines (it’s “mild”, it’s “over”, it’s “under control”) for the usual reasons (wanting people to get back to work for “the economy”). I think the book title was the name of the town and the date range, and of course I can remember none of these keywords 😖
