I haven’t seen this posted in full on Fedi before, so here’s the full #FOIA release of US Office of the Director of National Intelligence 2016 analysis of #Russia political assassinations worldwide. US and other leaders were originally rather lukewarm in their public wording and response to these killings, but their intelligence knew very well.
The analysts explain that Putin is “open about using assassinations” for counterterrorism but also “targets people it considers political threats”, mentioning Litvinenko as one victims. They also explain that another poisoning victim Aleksandr Perepilichnyy who was killed just before he was going to testify about Putin’s shadow financial network in EU.
