Many people are hurting and scared right now. They're expressing those feelings in many ways, maybe not in ways with which you agree. But they have a right to feel their feelings.
Some things to think about:
Do you think tone policing a Black woman is the best use of your energy at this moment? Do you think it's possible that a Black American may have different experiences than you and I that could lead them to processing this election in a different way than you? Do you think a compassionate response to someone in distress is to post a screenshot with no context seeking validation from others to feel better about how you responded?
I hope you are able to pause for a moment and consider that many people are experiencing many different emotions in this moment and they process and express those emotions in different ways. And it's especially not our job as white people to tell people of color that their thoughts and feelings are wrong when we haven't experienced the world the way they have.
