I don't think that's a fair read on CH (nor do I think it's a critique impossible to apply toward MIT) but we were quickly entangled in weeds, trying to parse those things. We gave up, and just kind of stared into the void together.

It's indeed a pretty deep void, and my shrug and wondering feels like a small miracle given the hopeless certainties of seven days ago. My loss of hope IS conservative. In some moments pragmatism gets it precisely wrong. And sometimes 'fuck this place' is faithful.
