What's not mentioned here is steel-reinforced concrete structures' lifespan - 100 years is an optimistic limit even for a quality construction. So *all* this shit will need to be torn down and rebuilt within 100 years. That's assuming that all these buildings in China are being made to top-notch standards which, from what I've seen on the Interwebs, is definitely not the case.
