There is a ton of good research being done out there that we just don't hear about in MSM because most of that research is apolitical or not considered a "hot topic" to sell headlines. Just legitimate, hardcore science for the sake of pushing the boundaries of human understanding.
Often times the kind of research that doesn't have some immediate market value but nonetheless something that will unlock economic value decades in the future, in ways completely unpredictable to the researcher.
