Sometimes I think there's an attempt to fool us into remaining on Twitter by making us think that we have more engagement than we do.
For example: After I talk trash on Twitter about Twitter Blue and promote Mastodon, my Twitter following will go up a few hundred, including many who are Twitter Blue subscribers, which makes no sense.
Then Musk does this and seems to be trying to drive news organizations like NPR off the site:
