I think we are finally nearing the end of the cape cycle. I've noticed in entertainment it seems to be around a decade of something being dominate until it becomes too much and people tune out. Last one was zombies; zombie games, zombie tv shows, zombie movies, etc. Then super hero media became the mainstay. But in the last year or so the shows are doing badly, the movies drawing in less money, the games bombing or getting delayed. Not sure what's next now but pretty sure cape shit is finally winding down.
