My liberal sister in law moved from Chicago to the suburbs and she was weirded out that when they moved in and took a walk around the block that her neighbors were friendly, said hi, and wanted to chat.

They were so used to their house in the city where they just pulled in the garage and never really walked around the neighborhood or talked to anyone except their immediate neighbor whom they shared a gate with.
