The "but my family is on there" argument for using #Meta services is a particularly strong illustration of what I mean when I say that we've become habituated to relying on social media platforms for keeping our social groups connected. If there's any group with which most people ought to have other modes of communication, it's the family with whom they want to stay in touch.
