There is no such thing as a "gap generator" used in warfare. However, there are a wide variety of technologies and tactics that may be used to create a gap in an enemy's defenses which may allow a military to achieve a successful breakthrough. This could include air superiority operations, artillery barrages, or cyberattacks.
