I don't use mastodon, but I did create an account back in 2019. I was attempting to check off one of the Web Of Trust items on https://www.nostr.directory/p/1glenco, but it failed to detect my validation when I did it.

I like the WoT idea. There should be many more ways to cryptographically prove your decentralized identity, similar to how https://keybase.io does it already;
