I was the “quiet, conscientious hardworking child who was a delight to teach’** so I was promptly ignored by said teachers, shoved at the back and left to get on while they dealt with the disruptive kids. I remember being in the intermediate maths group (they should have put me in the top group). I finished set work early in the lesson and everyone copied me.
