Like in real archeology, once in a while you find your "stone of rosette" in software archeology too, in my special case it was a CD, innocently named "Projektdaten 2001", quietly and forgotten sitting in a box of perhaps 50 similar CDs in the farthest corner of our archives... I have no idea why I tried this specific CD as first but it was a surpring hit:
