And so, in the end made four of these: one to each tree, courtesy of 300 gsm Somerset Satin paper. To make the emboss, I softened the paper for 15 minutes to loosen its fibres then dampened it off and laid it on top of a linocut block and placed both in a clamp press. I finished the whole piece by burnishing the back of the paper with a teaspoon. 30 minutes to press the emboss; 10 days to carve the block. Somewhere along the line I meditated.
