buy and hold = no txns once done.
lighting = no txn on chain
no txn on chain = less fees
less fees = less miners
less miners = you know the story
the block reward is only going to survive as long as the price continues to go up - but so does the costs to mine.
and it's not like I'm not transacting, I'm spending on zap stream, on p2p zaps as well as receiving - the difference is this is happening on a completely different network protocol. lighting is just wrapped bitcoin.
Now, I don't mind it either way - if it works it works, but let nature run it's course and just be a part of that journey.
